Our Program Provides Services for Autistic Children
Training with: Order, consistency, structure and limits
The First Steps Training Program is based on a fundamental belief that an autistic child can learn. At our facility we employ seven full-time staff members who practice one-on-one programming with our students.
Children are treated with the utmost respect so they may learn respect themselves.
We work on the following areas:
- Daily Life Skills
- Sensorial
- Behavior
- Pre-Academics
Each child is given an initial assessment, during which we will gather his or her functional level. Each child admitted to our program has their own unique curriculum.
Our trainers work enthusiastically with each student in a station-by-stattion format. The specific activities train both gross and fine motor skills, cognitive skill, and social behavioral habits.
We work to help our students progress to a point where they are more ready to succeed at home, at school, and for the rest of their lives. Our students have gone on to become independent workwrs and even college students. Success is our expectation, not just a goal.
